This Privacy Policy explains how Y.E.S. — Your Energy Solutions Solar Brokers ("YES Solar Brokers," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit our websites — including yes4.info, our free PG&E usage-analysis tool at usage.yes4.info, and our monitoring service pages — contact us, or use our services. We are a solar brokerage based in Sacramento, California, and most of our customers are California residents, so this policy is written with California privacy law (CCPA/CPRA) in mind.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we collect:
- Contact and identity information — name, email address, phone number, and property address, when you submit a form, book a consultation, message us, or become a customer.
- Energy and utility information (sensitive) — if you use our usage-analysis tool or engage us for an evaluation: your utility (e.g., PG&E) account information, energy usage data, and utility bills or usage files you upload or authorize us to receive. We treat this as sensitive information and use it only to prepare your evaluation and provide the services you request.
- Documents you provide — proposals, contracts, bills, or photos you share with us so we can advise you or manage your project.
- Commercial information — details about your solar project, quotes, and services purchased.
- Device and usage information — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and similar log data collected automatically when you use our sites (including via cookies and similar technologies).
How We Use Information
- To prepare your solar evaluation, obtain quotes, broker your project, and deliver services you request (including solar monitoring and inspections);
- To analyze your energy usage — including using automated/AI tools to read documents you provide (see "Service Providers" below);
- To communicate with you about your inquiry or account by phone, email, or text/WhatsApp;
- To operate, secure, and improve our websites and services;
- To comply with law and enforce our agreements.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold it in the preceding 12 months. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share personal information only as follows:
- Installers and project partners — with your consent. As a brokerage, our job is to get you quotes and get your project built. When you engage us, we share the information needed (such as your name, address, usage data, and system details) with the installers, financing partners, or inspectors involved in your project.
- Service providers that process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations — including cloud hosting (Vercel, Railway, Google), AI document-processing (Anthropic — used to read documents you provide; not used to train their models under our commercial terms), messaging (Twilio for SMS/WhatsApp), and email/CRM tools.
- Legal — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Utility Data Authorization
When you upload utility bills or usage files, or connect or authorize access to your utility account data, you authorize YES Solar Brokers to receive, store, and analyze that data for the purpose of preparing your solar evaluation and providing the services you request. You may withdraw this authorization at any time by contacting us (see below), and we will stop using your utility data and delete it upon request, subject to any records we are legally required to keep.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and share, and to request a copy;
- Delete personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (such as utility account data) to the purposes needed to provide the services you request — which is the only way we use it;
- Opt out of sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still submit a request;
- Non-discrimination — we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email ask@yes4.info with the subject "Privacy Request," or call 1-800-815-9358. We will verify your identity (typically by matching the contact information on file) and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent by providing signed permission.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above — generally: while we are working on your inquiry or project, while you are a customer, and afterward as needed for legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations. Utility data and documents no longer needed are deleted on request or per our retention schedule.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards: encrypted transmission (HTTPS), access limited to personnel who need it, and vetted service providers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by California law.
Children
Our websites and services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other Sites
Our sites link to third-party websites (such as social media, review sites, and our monitoring portal). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of our sites after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
